Profile
I completed my PhD in Tom Bennett’s lab, University of Leeds in 2022. I focussed on the end of flowering in Arabidopsis, showing how the phytohormones auxin and cytokinin are required for controlled floral arrest.
Research interests
I am interested in floral arrest, and how this is controlled by hormones, in particular cytokinin. Understanding the mechanisms that control the end of flowering is critical to essential improvements in crop yield, as a shorter flowering period limits the number of seed that can be produced. My research focusses on translating models established during my PhD – where I worked on Arabidopsis – into barley.
